Keynote title: Architecting Sustainable Health Systems with Strategic AI Foresight

Abstract: The integration of Artificial Intelligence into healthcare is no longer a question of "if" but "how." However, without strategic foresight, AI initiatives risk becoming siloed, unsustainable, and financially draining projects. This talk moves beyond the hype to address the critical challenge of embedding AI responsibly into the very fabric of our health and social care systems. I will start by arguing whether the current healthcare system is sustainable. I will then discuss a couple of foresight in action to showcase the capabilities of AI in supporting health information systems. I will then zoom in on a few AI-driven decision support systems that my team and I built to improve the healthcare systems in specific applications. Before I finish with a take-home message, I will present the possible roadblocks to AI-driven sustainable systems. We will begin by confronting a critical question: Is our current healthcare system truly sustainable? From this foundation, we will transition into a showcase of 'Foresight in Action,' illustrating how AI is already augmenting health information systems to move from reactive care to proactive health management. The core of the talk will then zoom in on real-world, AI-driven decision support systems developed by my team, demonstrating tangible improvements in specific clinical and operational applications. Finally, we will adopt a clear perspective on the implementation roadblocks from data governance to ethical considerations that must be navigated to realize a truly AI-driven, sustainable future, concluding with a powerful take-home message for leaders across all domains.

Important note: This session has Certification of CME Program Accreditation (MECMF-2024-000023)
